Impact

CVE-2026-53308 affects the Maxim MAX77705 charger driver (drivers/power/supply/max77705_charger.c), which is only built when CONFIG_CHARGER_MAX77705 is enabled. That option is not enabled in any Chainguard kernel configuration, so the vulnerable code is not included in the shipped kernel.
