Updates

Status

Not affected

Justification

Component not present

Impact

The flagged component is the editor's bundled 'handlebars' VS Code language-support extension manifest (/srv/gitlab/public/assets/webpack/gitlab-web-ide-vscode-workbench-0.0.1-dev-20260106142046/vscode/extensions/handlebars/package.json), which declares its own unrelated version number and contributes only a TextMate grammar and language configuration. None of the 'handlebars' npm library code is present in this package, so the vulnerable code is not shipped.

Status

Not affected

Justification

Component not present

Impact

This CVE is a false-positive, and the root cause is scanners mis-categorizing the name for vscode plugin in package.json with its NPM package due to an identical name but different structures of the JSON file.
