Impact

Upgrading spring-webmvc from 5.3.39 to 6.2.10 introduces breaking changes:

  • Requires Java 17+ (ontop currently uses Java 11)
  • Spring Boot 2.x to 3.x migration required Open source fix only available in Spring Framework 6.2.10+. Commercial-only fix available in 5.3.44 & 6.1.22. See: https://spring.io/security/cve-2025-41242/
