Impact

Cadence intentionally pins github.com/apache/thrift to a pre-release commit (v0.0.0-20161221203622-b2a4d4ae21c7) via a replace directive in go.mod. The upstream master branch retains this replacement, and upstream issue https://github.com/cadence-workflow/cadence/issues/6545 has tracked this for 5+ years with no fix planned. Resolving this requires upstream to remove the replace directive and update cadence to be compatible with a patched thrift release (>= 0.10.0).
