Impact

GeoServer 2.27/2.28 bundles spring-webmvc 5.3.39, which is the final release of the Spring Framework 5.3.x line (EOL). No patched version exists for the 5.3.x series. The fix requires Spring Framework 6.2.17+, which needs Java 17+ and is not compatible with these GeoServer version streams.
