Per the GitHub Security Advisory at https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-j6cv-3w8p-vrg8 (KubeVirt's authorization mechanism improperly truncates subresource names), kubevirt.io/kubevirt is listed as affected with no published fixed version (vulnerable range <=1.8.1). The advisory has a single affected-package entry and no firstPatchedVersion has been published. Without an upstream patched release of kubevirt.io/kubevirt, this issue cannot be closed by routine dependency-bump automation. A pending-upstream-fix advisory event is justified: the issue should reflect that we are awaiting upstream KubeVirt to publish a fixed release.
