Impact

CVE-2026-3298 affects the Windows-only _overlapped C extension (Modules/overlapped.c), which is not compiled on Linux. The fix adds a boundary check inside the WSARecvFrom call path; the vulnerable C code does not exist in this Linux APK. NVD/GHSA descriptions confirm "Non-Windows platforms are not affected."
