Impact

CVE-2026-53492 (GHSA-33vj-92qq-66hc) affects containerd's CRI checkpoint restore, which trusts CDI annotations from checkpoint image metadata. The affected Filebeat binary depends on github.com/containerd/containerd v1.7.36 but links only that module's errdefs error-definition package; no CRI, checkpoint, restore or image-import code is compiled in. The v1.7.36 source does not contain the vulnerable checkpoint import/restore implementation (CheckpointContainer is unimplemented), and the upstream fixes and advisory ranges apply only to the github.com/containerd/containerd/v2 module. govulncheck symbol-level output for this ID is an artifact of the OSV record listing no affected packages or symbols, so every module symbol (here only errdefs.init) is reported.
