Impact

CVE-2026-6019 is fixed in cpython main (76b3923d) with upstream backports prepared for the 3.13 and 3.14 branches, but no backport has been prepared for the 3.10/3.11/3.12 branches. The main commit depends on a _has_control_character helper introduced after this branch and does not cherry-pick cleanly. Waiting on upstream Python to ship a backport in this branch's release stream.
