Impact

This vulnerability affects Kubernetes 1.31.x. EKS Distro 1.31 builds from the upstream Kubernetes v1.31.x source, specified in: https://github.com/aws/eks-distro/blob/main/projects/kubernetes/kubernetes/1-31/GIT_TAG Fixes are available in Kubernetes 1.32.10+, but no fix exists for the 1.31.x release line.

A fix would require upstream to backport the patch to the Kubernetes 1.31 release branch, which is unlikely as this version is in maintenance mode. Recommendation: Upgrade to eks-distro-1.32 or later to resolve. [v2-migration]
