Impact

braces 3.0.3 is the latest published release, and upstream has stated that no fix will be issued. The maintainer considers the behaviour described by CVE-2026-93687 to be inherent to glob pattern compilation rather than a defect in braces, and notes that the library's existing maxLength option already bounds the input that triggers it. See https://github.com/micromatch/braces/issues/70 for the upstream position. There is no release to upgrade to.
