Impact

Thanos source directly imports github.com/prometheus/prometheus/tsdb/errors (removed in v0.311.x) and uses parser.ParseMetricSelector and model.LegacyValidation/IsValidLabelName APIs across pkg/receive, pkg/compactv2, pkg/block, pkg/replicate, pkg/api/query, and cmd/thanos/receive — all of which were removed or changed in prometheus v0.311.x. Remediating this CVE requires upstream Thanos to adapt to the new prometheus API; the bump cannot be applied cleanly.
