The fix (https://github.com/elastic/beats/commit/6e42552a23ce) landed on main 2025-12-17. The 9.3 branch was forked from main on 2025-12-18, inheriting the fix. Binary commit e89803edacde is 137 commits ahead with 0 behind (fix is ancestor). Detection is driven by Go pseudo-version string mismatch — binary uses v7.0.0-TIMESTAMP-COMMIT (numeric pre-release) while vuln DB fix uses v7.0.0-alpha2.0.TIMESTAMP-COMMIT (alphanumeric). Per semver §11.4.1 numeric < alphanumeric, so the version permanently appears vulnerable despite containing the fix.
