Impact

Fix requires upgrading github.com/distribution/distribution/v3 from v3.0.0-20230722181636-7b502560cad4 to v3.1.0. However, distribution v3.1.0 removes multiple packages that argocd-image-updater v1.1.1 depends on at build time: manifest/schema1 (deprecated Docker schema 1 format), registry/client, registry/client/auth, registry/client/auth/challenge. These removals require code changes in argoproj-labs/argocd-image-updater that have not yet been implemented upstream (master branch still uses the pre-release pseudo-version and removed packages). Upstream argocd-image-updater maintainers must migrate to the new distribution v3.1.0 API.
