Impact

Signature-verification TOCTOU fixed on crossplane main and backported only to the v2.2 and v2.3 branches (v2.2.3, v2.3.3); no fixed 2.1.x release exists and v2.1.7 remains in the vulnerable <=2.2.2 range. Awaiting an upstream 2.1.x release with the fix.
