Impact

The .NET 9 SDK bootstrap is source-built from the dotnet/dotnet VMR. The bundled System.Security.Cryptography.Xml assembly is 9.0.17, which is affected by CVE-2026-47304; the fix is in 9.0.18. The assembly ships inside the bootstrap's SDK and reference packs and tracks the VMR source tag, so it cannot be advanced independently of it. The bootstrap has not yet been bumped to 9.0.18. Pending an upstream dotnet/dotnet servicing tag that carries it.
