Impact

This package embeds github.com/containerd/containerd v1, which does not contain the vulnerable code. The issue is in CRI checkpoint restore through CreateContainer, which was introduced in containerd v2.1.0. In containerd v1.6 and v1.7 the CRI CheckpointContainer method is unimplemented and CreateContainer has no checkpoint restore path. The upstream advisory lists only github.com/containerd/containerd/v2 versions 2.1.0 to 2.2.6 and 2.3.0 to 2.3.3 as affected.
