CVE-2026-58203 is a vulnerability in pydantic-settings (NestedSecretsSettingsSource follows symlinks outside secrets_dir; affects pydantic-settings 2.12.0 to 2.14.1, fixed in 2.14.2), not in pydantic. The NVD record misassigns the CPE cpe:2.3:a:pydantic:pydantic, causing scanners to match the pydantic library, whose version 2.13.4 falls numerically inside the affected range. The OSV affected range for this CVE points at github.com/pydantic/pydantic-settings (fix commit d703bd7). This package ships pydantic, which does not contain the vulnerable component.
