Impact

distribution currently uses google.golang.org/grpc v1.68.0 which is significantly older than the fix version (v1.79.3). API changes between these versions result in compilation errors when remediation is attempted. For remediation, distribution upstream will need to upgrade their dependency and release a new version, which they appear to be working on in https://github.com/distribution/distribution/pull/4819
