Impact

Remediating this CVE requires bumping github.com/prometheus/prometheus past v0.311.x, which made breaking changes to the parser and label-validation API surfaces that Pyroscope still references (parser.ParseMetricSelector in pkg/validation/usage_groups.go and related callsites). The bump cannot be applied cleanly until upstream Pyroscope adapts to the new prometheus API.
