CVE-2026-82049 (GHSA-ghff-gcpf-9r9p) is a CPython tarfile extraction-filter bypass via a hard link pointing at a symlink, allowing files to be extracted outside the intended directory. The upstream fix is merged to CPython's main branch but only carried as a still-open, unmerged backport pull request for this release branch.
