Fixed in glibc-2.44 2.44-r8. The upstream fix for CVE-2026-8674 (GLIBC-SA-2026-0021) is commit 1f5026241027260e9280039698bca031484c82ad on the glibc release/2.44/master stable branch, a cherry-pick of master commit 506ea57086bfb9ce3daff1c14246a1cb532aba0a. The files it changes (resolv/resolv_conf.c) are identical at the build commit. glibc-2.44 is built from the release/2.44/master branch; every build from 2.44-r8 onward is built at commit 34106fee698c83eb0af71d4d0381e66b399be746 or later, which includes that fix. Upstream does not publish tagged point releases from its stable branches, so version-based scanners continue to match 2.44 even though the fix is present.
