Impact

The vulnerability is in Metricbeat's excessive memory allocation (github.com/elastic/beats/v7). Upgrading beats/v7 to the patched version (post-Jan 2026) introduces an API breaking change in elastic-agent-libs transport.TLSDialer (now requires an additional *logp.Logger parameter), causing compilation failure in apm-server. The dependency cannot be upgraded until upstream apm-server updates its API usage.
