Impact

Fixed in glibc-2.44 2.44-r8. The upstream fix for CVE-2026-95818 (GLIBC-SA-2026-0023) is commit 6b48c0b29c359dfa84c09c32373a48c8f663c304 on the glibc release/2.44/master stable branch, a cherry-pick of master commit ed0c137b97eb940b4b64981e84ed806d3276edd9. The files it changes (elf/dl-load.c and elf/dl-path-normalize.h) are identical at the build commit. glibc-2.44 is built from the release/2.44/master branch; every build from 2.44-r8 onward is built at commit 34106fee698c83eb0af71d4d0381e66b399be746 or later, which includes that fix. Upstream does not publish tagged point releases from its stable branches, so version-based scanners continue to match 2.44 even though the fix is present.

Status

Impact
