Impact

Out-of-bounds read in the DASH demuxer (libavformat/dashdec.c) when a live manifest refresh lowers startNumber, fixed upstream in master commit 65b0dab903e5 ("avformat/dashdec: reject a negative fragment index"). The vulnerable code is present and compiled in the shipped version. No release on this version line contains the fix: the latest tag is n6.1.6 and the release branch has no backport. The fix first ships in the 8.1.3 and 9.0.1 releases, which are a different version line.
